Emily
Taylor
PRESIDENT
She/Her
Hey everyone!! My name is Emily Taylor and I am the 2024-25 President of Kappa Delta Pi here at James Madison University!
I am a senior elementary education major with a minor in exceptional education. This is my 3rd year in KDP and 2nd year on exec! I am beyond excited to lead this organization of future teachers and see all the ways we can grow as people!
While in school, I am a substitute in Loudoun County, Harrisonburg City, and Rockingham County Public Schools. Over the summer I am an ESY teacher assistant. You can also catch me at country concerts and driving with my windows down singing my heart out! I have a huge passion for working with children and hope to share my experiences with others! Teachers make a difference in the world. I cannot wait for KDP to shape those educators!
Hunter
Carney
VICE PRESIDENT
She/Her
Hello everyone! My name is Hunter Carney and I am your Vice President this year! I am currently a junior elementary education major with a dance minor. This is my first year on KDP exec and my second year as a member of KDP and I love it! I am from Cranford, New Jersey and can usually be found reading a good book or dancing along to a Taylor Swift song!

When I am not at KDP events you can find me substituting for RCPS or working in the ETMC in Memorial. I cannot wait for an amazing school year and cannot wait to connect with all of our members!
Alyssa
Keller
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CHAIR
She/Her
Hi! My name is Alyssa Keller, and I am a senior Elementary Education major from Culpeper, VA! This is my first year serving as the Professional Development Chair, and my third year as a member of KDP. I'm so excited about what's to come for KDP this year!
When I'm not teaching in the classroom or at a KDP event, you can find me curled up on the couch with a blanket and a book, listening to Taylor Swift, or finding the perfect picnic spot with my friends. I'm beyond excited to share my experiences with you all and serve as your PD chair!
Anna
Bashore
COMMUNITY SERVICE CHAIR
She/Her
Hi! My name is Anna Bashore and I am a senior TESOL major with a minor in Sociology!
I am a transfer student from Roanoke, VA and this will be my second year in KDP! I have absolutely adored my time so far at JMU and am such a proud Duke!
Service is at the heart of what teaching is all about, for me personally. We serve our students, our team, our school, and in turn we nurture the community we are a part of. As preservice teachers, there is no better time to give to our community than now! As members, I hope you take pride in KDP being an engaged organization, for not only the betterment of ourselves, but in our 'Friendly City' too.
When I'm not in memorial hall, you can find me reading, birding, or thrifting!
Thank you for being a part of Kappa Delta Pi!
Ellie
Fisher
NETWORKING CHAIR
She/Her
Hey hey!! My name is Ellie Fisher and I am your Networking Chair this year. I am a junior Secondary ed and English major, and this is my second year in KDP!
I’m from Columbia, Maryland and I frequent trips back home on weekends (mostly to see my dog). I love everything creative and Pinterest-y, and I've had many crafty hobbies that I pick up for short periods of time and never touch again, but much of my free time is spent reading (mostly fiction, some romance/fantasy, a few classics), listening to music, and hot girl walking. I’m a HUGE swiftie but I also love any indie-pop/alt genres like boygenius and Lizzy McAlpine. I also take pictures of literally everything and dilly-dally with photography in my free time!
I am so excited for this year and I can’t wait to see KDP grow!
Rebecca McCann
TREASURER
She/Her
Hi! My name is Rebecca McCann! I’m the treasurer for KDP for this upcoming year! I'm from Williamsburg, VA and am currently a senior Elementary Education Major with a Minor in Sociology! This is my third year as a member in KDP and my second year as treasurer! I am so excited to be on this board for another year with all of you wonderful people! Can't wait to see how KDP grows this year! :)
I absolutely love being outside and doing all sorts of outdoor adventure activities! I work at a summer camp and love working with kids while teaching kayaking, canoeing, and stand up paddleboarding! I plan on teaching outdoor/environmental education after I graduate! I adore hiking while I'm back in the mountains by JMU as well! When I'm not outside I'll most likely be watching New Girl or just catching up with friends!
Sadie
Simon
SECRETARY
Hi! My name is Sadie Simon and I’m the Secretary for Kappa Delta Pi this year. This is my senior year at JMU as an Elementary Education major with a TESOL minor. This will be my third year in KDP and second serving on the executive board. Last year I had the privilege of being Community Service chair and I’m ecstatic to be on the board again!
A little more about me is that I’m from a small town in Maryland called Sykesville. I’ve worked at a daycare over summers and school breaks for four years. The past two years I’ve been with 18 month old toddlers and it’s my favorite thing ever. At JMU I’m also involved in CCM and the Christian Student Fellowship. A few more activities I love are workout classes, going on walks, reading, spending time in the sun, and shopping for aesthetic teacher outfits.
I can’t wait to shoot for the stars with you all this year!
Maddie
Frimmer
HISTORIAN
She/Her
Hi! My name is Maddie Frimmer and I am your KDP Historian this year! I am a junior Elementary Education major from Waynesboro, VA. This will be my first year as an exec member, but my second year in KDP! I have absolutely loved being apart of this organization and can’t wait to serve on the board this year!
I love to travel and see new places, especially tropical ones! When I’m not in school, I’m spending time with my family, friends, working at my hometown ice cream shop, or hanging out with my 2 golden retrievers! My favorite thing to do after a long day is binge watch Netflix or try out a new recipe. As some of my fellow exec members, I’m a proud swiftie but listen to all types of music which is another thing I enjoy doing. It’s so important for teachers to bond and create a “teacher tribe” and KDP is a great place for it! I can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
