Hey Y'all! My name is Katie Handcock and I'm from Winchester, Virginia. I am a Grad Student this year in the Teacher Leadership Master's program and graduated with my degree in elementary education last spring! This is my third year on the KDP executive board, and my fourth year in Kappa Delta Pi!

I am so thankful for my time here at JMU and in KDP. It has helped me find my best friends and helped me expand my teaching skills, as well as become a more social and connected person on campus! I love meeting and getting to know all the members of our organization! In my free time, I enjoy crafting, listening to Taylor Swift, and reading! I can't wait for another amazing year with KDP! 

Hello everyone! My name is Emily Taylor and I am your Vice President this year! I am currently a junior elementary education major with a minor in exceptional education. This is my first year on KDP exec and my second year as a member of KDP and boy can I say I LOVE KDP!

When I am not at KDP events you can find me substituting for HCPS & RCPS as well as babysitting near campus. I also enjoy playing sports and cleaning! I know weird! Anyways I cannot wait for this school year and meeting all of you! KDP forever!!! 

Hi everyone! My name is Lauren Anderson, and I am a junior Elementary Education Major! This is my first year serving on the Professional Development Chair, and my second year as a member of KDP. I have absolutely loved my time in KDP as I have made everlasting friendships and grown as a future educator. 

Outside of KDP, you can find me scooping ice cream at Smiley's Ice Cream, reading by the pool, working out, or playing tennis. I love volunteering in my community at various elementary schools, as well as substituting in my hometown, Colonial Heights, Virginia. I cannot wait to share my experience with fellow future teachers and gain insight from those in the organization! I am so looking forward to this year and growing and learning as your PD chair!

Hi! My name is Sadie Simon and I’m a junior elementary education major. I’m also pursuing a minor in teaching ESOL. This is my second year being in Kappa Delta Pi and first serving on the executive board. I’m from a small town named Sykesville in Maryland.

I work at a daycare over the summers in a classroom of 18 month old babies and I love it! I also enjoy workout classes, cooking, listening to Taylor Swift, reading, rom coms, dark chocolate and spending time in the sun. I’m honored to be your Community Service chair and can’t wait to serve the Harrisonburg community.

Hi everyone, my name is Grace Bobrowski and I am a junior Elementary Education major. This is my second year in KDP and my first year serving on the board as the Networking Chair. I have made so many friends and have already made great memories in KDP that I hope to continue making as an executive board member. 

In my free time, I enjoy listening to country music, reading, taking walks, and watching New Girl! I am from West Chester, Pennsylvania and love my Philly sports teams (go birds). I am a substitute teacher for Harrisonburg City Schools and an avid volunteer in the Rockingham County area. I am looking forward to growing as an educator and supporting my other KDP members along the way:)

Hi! My name is Rebecca McCann! I’m the treasurer for KDP for this upcoming year! I'm from Williamsburg, VA and am currently a junior Elementary Education Major with a Minor in Sociology! This is my second year as a member in KDP and my first year as treasurer! Can't wait to see how KDP grows this year! :)

I absolutely love being outside and doing all sorts of outdoor adventure activities! I work at a summer camp and love working with kids while teaching kayaking, canoeing, and stand up paddleboarding! I adore hiking while I'm back in the mountains by JMU as well! When I'm not outside I'll most likely be watching New Girl or just catching up with friends! 

Hello! My name is Megan Goodell and I'm from Arlington, Virginia. I'll be your Secretary this year! I'm a senior Special Education major with a minor in TESOL! This is my first year on the KDP executive board and my second year in KDP! Outside of KDP, I substitute teach in HCPS and Arlington Public Schools, coach a youth synchronized swimming team, and tutor kids with dyslexia. In my free time, I enjoy going to UREC, hanging out with friends, and watching Grey's Anatomy (I'm quite possibly obsessed). I'm so excited to connect with everyone, and I'm looking forward to another great year in KDP!
